Streb Action Study
A project made in an undergraduate class at San Diego State University studying the work of Elizabeth Streb at Streb Lab for Action Mechanics (SLAM) in New York. In this video, I worked with ideas related to physical force as well as video feedback enhancing the visual information present in the dance. My main point of inquiry was the somatic experience of slamming distributed weight horizontally in different configurations, or essentially: What would be the best way to jump into this wall? Disclaimer: Elizabeth Streb's work is physically demanding, athletic and cognitively complex/scientific- I do not claim to be doing what she does,or following a specific process of hers but rather a short study about the somatic experience inspired by her work.
